David Hillberg

David Hillberg is more than an author — he is a lifelong observer of politics shaped by decades of diverse experiences. Born in California to a racing family, David’s path took him through firefighting training, military service as a scout helicopter repairer, and a long career as an aviation specialist, inspector, and pilot. His work with the Army, law enforcement aviation units, aerospace companies, and border patrol gave him a front-row seat to the intersection of policy, bureaucracy, and everyday life.

Outside aviation, David also found a creative outlet in acting, earning his SAG card and contributing to film and television while engaging in union leadership. These experiences deepened his understanding of how institutions, whether political or cultural, often serve their own interests before the people they claim to represent.

David’s turn toward politics came after a pivotal moment in 2020, when his own ballot was disqualified. What began as frustration led him to investigate election laws, candidate requirements, and the systemic challenges facing independent voices. His journey through California’s recall and primary elections revealed a political system that is often stacked against outsiders.

That journey became the foundation for Election Deniers: Observations of a Candidate — a candid memoir that blends personal storytelling with political critique. Through this book, David shares his experiences of resilience, disillusionment, and the pursuit of integrity in a system resistant to change.

Why It Matters Today

Through his writing, David connects the deeply personal with the broadly political, showing how individual struggles mirror systemic flaws. His message is clear: by confronting uncomfortable truths today, we equip ourselves to demand accountability and integrity tomorrow.

In a time when trust in government and institutions is rapidly eroding, David Hillberg offers a voice rooted in honesty and lived experience. His journey through military service, aviation, union leadership, and political candidacy provides a rare vantage point on how power actually operates behind the scenes.

What makes David’s work stand out is its urgency. He doesn’t just analyze politics from afar — he has lived through the frustrations of ballot disqualifications, bureaucratic roadblocks, and the steep cost of running as an outsider. His insights reveal why understanding elections isn’t just for politicians or academics — it’s essential for every voter who cares about the future of democracy.
